An email appeared in my inbox the other day from www.Searchwarp.com asking contributing authors (me being one of them) to submit a favourite quote, and what it meant to us.
Now I have many quotes I love and use them on a daily basis, sometimes on my website but most prolifically I upload them to my Facebook pages. Thinking more about a quote that has special meaning for me, it didn't really take me long to come up with one of my all time favourites by Erma Bombeck, an American humorist (1927-1996).
As the years passed and my life became more hectic, time for keeping up with Erma's column whittled down to zero. It was several years ago that I discovered she had passed away on 22nd April 1996 from complications of a kidney transplant. The Universe for me suddenly became a much emptier place.
As I read through her quotes there was one which really touched me and is:
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me".Life has a way of passing by very quickly; before you know it, half a lifetime has flown by (in my case anyway). I'm a great believer in embracing life, connecting with those nearest and dearest, and embracing opportunities that come my way, and also in using every bit of talent I too have been blessed with.
Make every second count, because it does'.

I've watched friends and family pass away too early, and with it their dreams of what they still wanted to achieve, so when I read Erma's quote, it resonated with me at a very deep level...wishing you an amazing day :)
So true. Don't waste time in regret but continue to embrace life and make each day better for yourself, your family and the world around you. Thanks for the blast to the past on Erma Bombeck. I too read her works in South Africa. She definitely influenced a lot of us. Thanks, Michaela. You're very welcome Desiree! I was quite saddened when I heard of her passing, she certainly touched me deeply without her ever knowing it. Wishing you a fabulous day :)
